An AI front desk for moving companies
How a moving company uses an AI front desk to capture both addresses, the date and the size of the move while the customer is still deciding who to call, book the estimate or video survey, and never quote a total before a survey.

A moving company's AI front desk answers the enquiry in seconds, captures the two addresses, the date and roughly how much is moving, checks the date against crew availability, and books an in-home or video estimate. It does not quote a total, an hourly rate or a binding estimate by text. The price waits for the survey, and the AI says so in a way that keeps the customer.
Four companies in an afternoon
Someone planning a move contacts several companies at once and goes with whichever answers well first. A movers' office is often one person on the phone with a customer already; the others go to voicemail. The AI answers all of them, immediately, and gets each to a booked survey.
What it captures
From and to addresses. The move date and whether it is fixed. Bedrooms, or a rough volume. Stairs or elevator at each end. Packing or storage needed. Those are the inputs an estimator needs, and the AI asks them in conversation rather than as a form.
Why no price
"What would a 2-bedroom move from Denver to Boulder cost" is the first question and the AI does not answer it with a number. It explains that a firm price needs a quick survey (twenty minutes, in person or by video), books it, and says a written estimate follows the same day. Customers accept this readily when it is said plainly and the survey is booked on the spot; they leave when it is said vaguely and nobody books anything.
Date confirmation
The AI checks the requested date against the crew calendar before saying anything. If it is available, the survey is booked and the date provisionally held. If it is full, alternatives are offered. If it needs a person to confirm (a long-distance move, a large job), the AI says the date is being confirmed rather than promising it.
Move day
Arrival window and ETA texts, triggered by the dispatcher, with replies landing in the inbox where someone is watching. "Are you still coming" is the most common move-day text, and it should be answered in a minute.
Storage and packing
Captured at intake so the estimate covers the whole job. Storage consultations booked as short calls. Packing added to the survey scope.
What it does not do
Quote any price. Confirm a date without checking. Describe interstate moves beyond your approved wording, since federal rules apply to estimates and paperwork for those. Promise a crew size.
Frequently asked questions
Why won't it just give a price?
Because a moving price depends on what the estimator sees. It books the survey and tells the customer a written estimate follows the same day.
Can it check whether a date is available?
Yes, against the crew calendar you keep. If the date is full it offers alternatives rather than overbooking.
Does it send day-of updates?
It sends the arrival window and ETA texts your dispatcher triggers, and replies land in the shared inbox.
What Frontiva does here
The moving and storage page shows the workflows. In Frontiva every enquiry becomes a lead with a visible score, an owner and follow-up tasks (lead management), the AI answers only from your approved facts, so it never quotes a total you did not give it, and surveys can be booked on your public booking page.
